JAYAPURA - Lukas Enembe Stadium has officially become the home base of Persipura Jayapura football club.
This was after the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, gave approval to the proud club of Papuan.
Acting Head of the Papuan Sports and Youth Department, Alexander Kapisa, said this, in a release received by the editor on Wednesday.
"We need to convey that the Manager of Persipura Jayapura, Yan P. Mandenas has sent a letter to the Provincial Government to be allowed to use the Lukas Enembe Stadium as their home ground in this year's competition season".
"After we communicated and discussed internally, we invited Perispura Jayapura to use the Lukas Enembe Stadium to be their drum," he explained.
The granting of the permit, according to him, is a tangible manifestation of the Governor's support for Persipura, especially in the development of sports in Papua in general.
"The Governor conveyed that Persipura is part of the soul and body of the Papuan people, including me. So we must continue to support it so that we can restore the glory of Persipura as in the past years."
Head of the Sports and Youth Department also explained that in addition to using the Lukas Enembe Stadium, the Papua Provincial Government also gave permission to use the Athletes Guesthouse in the shooting venue to become a guesthouse for Persipura players.
"The athletes' guesthouse in the indoor shooting venue will also be used by Persipura to become a players' guesthouse. Of course, the mechanism of use and the responsibility of Persipura while using the Stadium and athletes' guesthouse will be discussed further with the Persipura management," he said. ***
