JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, has urged government-owned hospitals to increase the revenue of the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD).
According to Governor Ramses, Regional General Hospitals (RSUD) that have already adopted the BLUD model must be financially independent. However, he also acknowledged that the provincial government still provides support.
“Regional Hospitals as BLUD must be financially independent. But up to now, the government is still providing financial support,” Ramses said on Tuesday (April 15).
One effort to increase BLUD hospital revenue is to boost public participation, particularly from users of the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS). Hospitals are also encouraged to optimize existing facilities.
“For example, parking facilities can be a source of income that supports hospital revenue,” he said.
“Anything of legal and legitimate value can be utilized to boost hospital income,” he added.
Ramses also emphasized the importance of budget efficiency without compromising public service.
“Service must remain the priority for the people of Papua who seek medical treatment,” he concluded. ***
