JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, stated that the budget for the re-vote (PSU) of the Papua Governor and Deputy Governor election results from the rationalization of the 2025 Regional Budget.
He mentioned that his administration has already conducted a review, particularly with the General Elections Commission and the Election Supervisory Agency, as he believes their budgets can still be streamlined.
In funding the revote, the Governor plans to rationalize the budgets of related departments that are considered less effective.
“We can reallocate funds from less efficient departments to finance the revote. There will certainly be an impact, but we aim to minimize it so the government can continue running smoothly,” he said.
He added that the initial budget of IDR 189 billion can still be reduced.
“Once the Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) is signed, that will be the final budget for both the Election Supervisory Agency and the General Elections Commission,” the governor explained.
The Governor confirmed that the budget for the Papua gubernatorial election will come from the rationalized regional budget, and the calculations are currently being carried out by the team. ***
