JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government held a joint assembly along with a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day on Monday (June 2).
Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Suzana Wanggai, emphasized that the five principles of Pancasila must be integrated into daily life.
“Remember that 2045 marks the Golden Indonesia era. Therefore, young people must prepare themselves in all aspects,” said Suzana.
In her speech, Suzana stated that in the context of current national development, the government has outlined the Asta Cita, the eight priority agendas toward Golden Indonesia 2045.
One of the most fundamental aspects of Asta Cita is strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights.
“Economic progress without the foundation of Pancasila values can lead to inequality. Technological advancement without the moral guidance of Pancasila can plunge the nation into dehumanization,” she explained.
Furthermore, Suzana added that in education, it is essential to instill Pancasila values from an early age—not just through formal lessons, but also through daily practices. Schools and universities must become the birthplace of a generation that is intellectually sharp, strong in character, and firm in moral integrity.
“Social justice, as stated in the fifth principle, must be the main orientation. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), people-based economy, and cooperatives must continue to be empowered so that no citizen is left behind in the nation’s progress,” she concluded. ***
