JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, through Acting Head of the Papua Regional Inspectorate, Danny Korwa, stressed the importance of overseeing the use of village funds.
According to him, this oversight is necessary to prevent problems, especially since the government has disbursed significant funds to villages across Papua.
"There needs to be oversight of village administrations to ensure that government duties are carried out under the law," said Danny.
He also emphasized that transparency in the use and management of funds is crucial. Village heads are required to involve the community through public forums to jointly monitor the implementation of village funds by providing suggestions and complaint boxes.
"At the provincial level, we conduct supervision or monitoring of the village fund implementation through regional inspectorates," he explained.
He further urged regents and mayors in Papua to strengthen their support by allocating sufficient funding to district and city inspectorates.
Danny said they will be better equipped to supervise at the village level.
“District heads in the nine cities and regencies must oversee village heads in managing the funds,” he concluded. ***
