JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government held a Heroes Day ceremony in the courtyard of the Papua Governor’s Office on Monday (November 10, 2025). The ceremony was attended by civil servants from across the provincial government.
Papua Deputy Governor Aryoko Rumaropen, who served as the ceremony inspector, reminded participants that the spirit of heroism must be translated into concrete actions—particularly through improved performance and public service delivery.
“As civil servants, let us strengthen our work ethic, discipline, and productivity in every government unit. The fighting spirit of our heroes must live on through our dedication to developing Papua,” Aryoko said.
He emphasized that the heroes’ struggle was not only demonstrated through physical sacrifice, but also through sincerity and courage in placing the interests of the nation above personal ones. These values, he said, should serve as the moral foundation for carrying out government duties.
“Our heroes taught us to work sincerely, patiently, and take responsibility with courage. These are the qualities needed to build a prosperous and progressive Papua,” he added.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes that the Heroes Day commemoration will serve as a momentum for reflection and renewal, encouraging all civil servants and the broader community to strengthen their commitment to advancing the region. ***
