JAYAPURA - The Provincial Government of Papua through the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM), Friday afternoon (17/9/2021) released 250 Indigenous Papuan students (OAP) participants of the Papua Superior Student Program (SUP) to four educational institutions in Jayapura City and Regency.
The handover of Papuan Superior Students took place at Suni Hotel and Convention, Abepura, Jayapura City, beginning with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Provincial Government of Papua through Human Resources Development Agency of Papua Province to the Papua Language Institute (PLI), Papua Hope Language Institute (PHLI), Sagu Foundation (SF) and Tangata English House.
Head of Human Resources Development Agency of Papua Province, Aryoko AF Rumaropen, SP. M.Eng said the Indigenous Papuan students participating in the SUP program received educational scholarships from the Papua Provincial Government to receive education at various domestic and foreign universities.
"Before they were sent to various universities at home and abroad, our children were fostered their character and English in four local Papuan educational institutions in Jayapura City and Regency," he explained.
The 250 of Indigenous Papuan students are the best children who have taken three stages of selection and tests namely administrative selection, Academic Potential Test (TPA) and Health test for two months since July 2021.
"These students have undergone a selection process conducted since the last two months. From the quota of 250 students they will follow the construction at educational institutions that are partners of the Papua Provincial Government," said Aryoko.
Rumaropen stated that the Papua Superior Student Scholarship Program is one of the priority policies of Governor Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH and Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal, SE, MM.
"Therefore, our expectations in the implementation of student coaching can be done in accordance with the rules contained in the Cooperation agreement," said Aryoko.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sup Papua 2021 Program Scholarship Selection Committee, Elius Enembe, S.Kep, MM in his report mentioned students who enrolled in the SUP program as many as 1,292 graduates of High School (SMA) and Vocational School (SMK) in Papua Province.
Of these, 962 students passed the administrative selection. There were 250 students passed the Selection of Academic and English Potential Tests and take the Health test.
"The selection of the Papua Superior Student Program scholarship in 2021 has been carried out with measurable and very transparent stages," said Elius who is also head of Field in Planning of Education Program and Improving Competitiveness of Papua Human Resources Affirmations.
He added that the step has been completed and then the prospective scholarship recipients can be distributed to each coaching institution with quotas that have been determined by Human Resources Development Agency of Papua Province as sponsors.
