JAYAPURA – An additional four gold medals from the Papuan contingent in the sport of skates, received the appreciation of Governor Lukas Enembe.
This was conveyed by the Spokesman of the Governor of Papua, Muhammad Rifai Darus, in his release, Monday (09/27/2021).
"The Governor expressed great pride towards the Papuan Contingent who received 4 gold medals".
"Moreover, Governor Lukas Enembe on that occasion was present directly to support the Papuan skate team, at Klemen Tinal Roller Sport Stadium," said Rifai.
Gold medal donations from roller skating were achieved from the men's and women's 100 meters individual time trial and men's 400 meters individual time trial. Plus 1 bronze medal in the women's ITT 400 meters.
"Governor Lukas Enembe was amazed by the greatness and glory of the skate athletes owned by Papua. One of them is Dave Abel who is still 14 years old."
"This can certainly be very valuable ammunition for Papua and also Indonesia, because regeneration continues to be fostered so that these young athletes can be prepared carefully to compete at an international level," he explained.
Governor Lukas Enembe still, according to Spokesman Rifai, thanked the manager of the skate who had done talent scouting and coaching well.
"The roller skates give a sense of emotion and happiness for all Papuan people. Because at National Sports Week XIX West Java 2016 ago, this sport was only able to bring home 1 gold medal," he concluded. ***
