JAYAPURA - Papua Marine and Fisheries Service held socialization and facilitation of "marathon" fishing business license services in three districts.
Activities in order to improve the quality of service and certainty of legal protection for fishery and fishermen, held for three days (23 to 25 November 2021), in Mimika, Biak and Merauke districts.
According to the Head of The Papua Marine and Fisheries Service, Ir. Iman Djuniawal, M.Si, the activity aims to provide understanding related to the integration of OSS and SIMKADA for related parties.
Through that integration, it is expected that electronic licensing services in the future can be completed quickly and efficiently and easily.
"There are indeed obstacles for fishing businesses in areas with difficulty accessing OSS services. Such as the creation of an OSS account and the process of input its administrative requirements. But through this integration it is expected that the process will be better," he said.
Organizing Committee, Agus Rahmawan, S.ST. Pi, M.Si as Head of the Fisheries Catch Section at the Papua Marine and Fisheries Service said this activity was carried out hybrid learning or learning with a combination system and online methods (outside the classroom) and face-to-face.
"Considering the situation is still a pandemic, this socialization is carried out online and face-to-face involving business actors and related stakeholders such as PSDKP, POLAIRUD and TNI AL," he said.
Rahmawan who is also a Technical Team at DPMPTSP Papua province said there are currently about 20 fishing boats size 5-30 GT in Papua that have not been operational due to permit delays. This obstacle is more due to the OSS system that is not familiar, causing ship owners to often be late to take care of ship licensing.
"This condition must be resolved immediately by continuously providing understanding to business actors. Because this OSS requires them to fulfill the requirements independently and electronically."
"Then if it is not done, then this condition will have an impact on the cessation of operation of fishing efforts in the area," he said. ***
