JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government appreciates regencies/cities whose achievements of the second dose of vaccination have been above 70 percent.
However, it is noted that there are still a small number of districts that have not maximized the target of the second dose of vaccination.
Responding to this, Assistant for Economic Affairs and People's Welfare of the Papua Regional Office, Muhammad Musa'ad admitted that there are still several districts whose achievement of the second dose of vaccination is very low.
"Thus, we appeal to regional heads throughout Papua to immediately pursue the target of achieving the second dose of vaccination," said Musa'ad in Jayapura, Wednesday.
Musa'ad said that the current transmission of COVID-19 has not completely disappeared. For this reason, he appealed to the district and city governments to continue to implement health protocols, so as to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.
"One example is for event organizers who carry out activities indoors, to continue to pay attention to health protocols and still have to make efforts. So what, we both prevent the transmission of the virus," he said.
He added that cumulatively, vaccination achievements in Papua are still relatively low, so his party hopes that the government, TNI-POLRI and other agencies can boost so that hard immunity will be achieved. ***
