JAYAPURA - Acting Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Secretariat Regional, Derek Hegemur encouraged that Research and Development in the regions can be the main pillar in the series of implementation for development. This activities can be carried out starting at the planning, implementation and supervision stages of development.

Also, he continued, "we can provide inputs as a basis for consideration of the formulation of each strategic policy for regional development, which is first carried out through studies or research".

"So that Regional Apparatus Organization in the provincial scope, will be able to take advantage of the results of Research and Development as a reference in making policies," said Assistant Derek, in Jayapura, Thursday (30/6/2022), at the Coordination Meeting of central and regional relations in the domestic government policy strategy to increase the capacity of the State Civil Apparatus in Papua.

Derek on that occasion appealed to the State Civil Apparatus in Papua, to be able to understand and implement the Regional Financial Management Index (IPKD), the Regional Head Leadership Index (IKKD) then the Regional Innovation Index (IID) and the Regional Governance Index (ITK).

Thus, stakeholder synergy can be created in realizing synergy in the implementation of quality local government. Since the implementation of the Regional Innovation Index, the Papua Provincial Government ranks 17th (Seventeenth) out of 34 (thirty-four) provinces with the title of innovative province in 2021.

"It also shows the sincerity of the Papua Provincial Government who wants to change to catch up with other provinces," he said. ***
