JAYAPURA – Acting Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretariat, Derek Hegemur, said that public service reform is very important and dominant, it is the end of all problems felt by the community can be resolved.
"The main function of the government is to provide services according to minimal service standards for citizens and in order to lead to good governance".
"Therefore, public services must be regulated and implemented properly and correctly," explained Assistant Derek, in Jayapura, when opening the guidance activities for the preparation of public service standards, community satisfaction surveys and public consultation forums for Regional Work Unit, within the Papua Provincial Government and regencies/cities as well as the Resort Police in Mamta and Saireri customary areas.
Meanwhile, to get quality service, continued Derek, a clear and correct reference is needed to be followed and obeyed jointly by the organizers and service users.
This guideline is called the public service standard. Each public service standard must contain fourteen components consisting of six service deliveries that must be widely publicized to be known and implemented by the public.
"Because, people are users of services and the eight components of manufacturing as things owned and or provided by the government as public service providers," he said.
Similarly, continued Derek, for community satisfaction surveys and public consultation forums are an integral part of service standards.
To measure the level of public satisfaction with the services provided by the government through the public service delivery unit, a community satisfaction service is held in order to get public information in the form of input.
"So that suggestions and even criticisms to public organizers, these suggestions and criticisms will then be discussed in a forum called the public collation forum as an effort to resolve and answer community complaints," he concluded. ***
