PALEMBANG - The Indonesian Creative Sports Association (IOSKI) of Papua failed to maintain gold at the 2022 Palembang National Recreational Sports Festival (FORNAS).

Unlike the slight difference in numbers, the Papuan team that dropped in the type of regional creation gymnastics sport, the general team category, Tuesday (5/7/2022) night, had to settle for winning silver, with West Papua Province one strip below it winning bronze. Meanwhile, the gold medal was won by DIY Province, Yogyakarta.

The companion and coach of IOSKI Papua, Rico F. Walubun, still appreciates the hard work of those who, even with minimal preparation, are still able to contribute medals for Papua.

"From the beginning, I have said that defending (the gold medal) is more difficult than winning. Continuing to add more with the preparation situation for only two weeks, I think the 2nd place is already a good achievement," he explained after the competition, at PTC Mall, Palembang.

Nevertheless, he promised to regain the best results at FORNAS West Java next year.

"Because of the results obtained this time, we are enthusiastic to show the best in the next FORNAS, to win and bring home the gold medal to Papua," he said. ***
