JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government through the Communication and Informatics Department (Diskominfo) invites the residents of Papua to be wise in using social media so as not to violate ethics which can then plunge them into legal issues.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri Agus Yudianto after opening the Digital Literacy Training for the residents of Enggros and Tobati Villages took place in Enggros Village, Monday (11/7/2022).
According to him, the training is one of the efforts to create digitally capable agents in the local village.
Through these digital capable agents, it is hoped that it will help the government realize the importance of encouraging the massive use of the positive internet, in order to drive the economic sector and the productivity of the people in the village.
"For example, by creating creative economy and tourism content so that it can create added value for the region. Instead of using social media unwisely which has the potential to cause hoaxes," said Jeri.
Jeri on that occasion also invited residents to work together to create a healthy ecosystem in the digital world. Because although the number of internet users in Papua is not significant enough, the effects caused by negative internet use will greatly affect the development of the security and order situation in Papua.
"Because negative internet use or unwise social media can be caught in the problem of fraud, pornography, hoax and so on. Therefore, we invite residents to start being capable and wise in accessing the internet or social media," urged Jeri. ***
