JAYAPURA - The Papua Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) announced that the value of Regional Original Revenue has exceeded the target in the first week of the seventh month in 2022. From the target of IDR 1.3 trillion, Papua was collected worth IDR 1.3 trillion.
"The sector that contributes the most is from the largest gold mining company, PT Freeport Indonesia".
"But there are other sectors that also contribute quite a lot to Papua, such as motor vehicle taxes," said Head of the Regional Revenue Agency of Papua, Setyo Wahyudi in Jayapura, Wednesday (13/7/2022).
With the achievement of this target, he continued, at the upcoming amendment session of Local Government Budget 2022, there will be a change in the value of the target.
"The point is, we just wait after the Amendment of Local Government Budget," he said.
Asked about the impact of provincial expansion in Papua on local indigenous income, Setyo said he would still review the New Autonomous Region (DOB) law.
"There are changes in Regional Original Revenue but we look at the legal basis of the DOB Law and when it will take effect," he said.
Previously, Regional Secretary of Papua Province Ridwan Rumasukun said regional autonomy must be supported by increasing regional fiscal capabilities. Where local governments are encouraged to continue to optimize Regional Original Revenue so that regional fiscal capabilities increase. ***
