JAYAPURA - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) assesses that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Papua have a great opportunity to enter the digital economy in terms of online product marketing.
"We do not doubt this, especially since Papuan MSME have the support of partners, such as Bank Indonesia, Telkom and others who routinely carry out coaching and assistance.
"That's why we from the Ministry of Communication and Informatics encourage MSME in Papua to start migrating to various digital platforms in marketing their products, so that they can grow and develop towards the global market".
"Thus, we hope that MSMEs in Papua will take a step forward and be able to compete with other business actors throughout the country," explained the Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information, Philip Gobang, , to the press, after the Road To Bangga Buatan Indonesia (BBI) Papua in Jayapura City, Thursday (14/7/2022).
According to Philip, MSMEs are currently the main support for the national economy. The proof is that MSME products have contributed around 61 percent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
"This value is very large, the strength of the digital economy and the President encourages this digital economy to enter MSMEs," said Philip.
Therefore, he continued, the Ministry of Communication and Information and partners will continue to work hard to provide digital literacy for the community, especially MSME actors for their social and economic interests in the future..
"We will continue to carry out various programs so that people's economic opportunities can be channeled through the available digital space and that is a very large economic potential for Indonesia".
"And then the current program certainly doesn't end here. Assisting and training for MSMEs will continue. The goal is to meet the big targets in the National Digital Roadmap, including Digital Infrastructure, Digital Society, Digital Economy and Digital Government," he concluded. ***
