JAYAPURA - The Social, Population and Civil Registry Office of Papua Province boosted the recording of Electronic ID-Card (e-KTP) in remote areas (3T) of Papua.
Recording activities also collaborated with the team Population and Civil Registry Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Telling to reporters in Jayapura on Tuesday, the head of the Papuan Social, Population and Civil Registry Office, Ribka Haluk, said the program was temporarily promoted in Central Mamberamo Regency, Yapen Islands, Paniai, Jayawijaya and Nabire.
In the first stage, it has managed to record more than 1600 people.
"Of course, we hope that the numbers will continue to grow with this program," said Ribka.
However, people in the five regions, especially for those who have not recorded their ID cards, are expected to take advantage of this program.
"We also appeal to the local government to encourage their people to be able to record e-KTP," she said.
It is known that five 3T regions still have low ID card recording coverage. ***
