JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua recorded that the Human Development Index (HDI) value of Papua Province in 2022 reached 61.39 or an increase of 0.77 points (1.27 percent) compared to the previous year of 60.62.
According to the Head of Central Statistics Agency of Papua, Adriana H. Carolina, during 2010-2022, the HDI of Papua Province increased by an average of 1.00 percent per year.
Meanwhile, the increase HDI in 2022 occurs in all dimensions, both longevity and healthy living, the dimension of knowledge and the dimension of decent living standards.
"The growth of Papua HDI in 2022 is strongly influenced by the increase in all components of HDI in 2022, especially the dimension of decent living standards," she explained in Jayapura, Friday (2/12/2022).
"While on the dimensions of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2022 have the expectation of being able to live up to 66.23 years, 0.3 years longer than those born in the previous year.
"As for the knowledge dimension, in 2022 7-year-old children have the hope of enjoying education for 11.14 years, an increase of 0.03 years compared to 2021 of 11.11 years.
"In addition, the average length of schooling of residents aged 25 years and over is also still increasing by 0.26 years, from 6.76 years in 2021 to 7.02 years in 2022".
"For the dimension of decent living standards, the average per capita expenditure adjusted in 2022 is 7.146 million rupiah, or an increase of 191 thousand rupiah compared to 2021 which is only 6.955 million rupiah," she concluded. ***
