JAYAPURA - Papua Governor, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun encouraged Papuan residents to validate their Single Identity Number (NIK) into a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), because it will make it easier for taxpayers when reporting the Annual Tax Return (SPT).
"Given the importance of this validation, I invite and urge all Papuans to immediately validate NIK into the NPWP for stronger taxes," he said in Jayapura, Thursday.
According to Ridwan, his party has recently validated the NIK to NPWP, so it has felt the convenience of reporting tax returns. Most employees have been instructed to perform the upgrade.
Because in addition to making it easier to report tax returns, it is hoped that residents will be more obedient in making tax payments.
Meanwhile, the Head of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations, Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of Papua, West Papua, and Maluku, Tirta said that by doing this validation, it can manage their taxes only by memorizing the NIK so that it makes it easier.
"We continue to make the helpdesk available at the tax service office so that the public can be helped," he explained.
In the future, he added, tax agencies in Papua will continue to innovate to make it easier for taxpayers to update data by visiting the nearest Tax Service Office (KPP).
It is known that the opening of updating NIK data into NPWP has been opened by the local Taxation Office since early January 2023. ***
