JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun handed over agricultural production equipment for a chili farmer group in Ifale Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Friday (22/3/2024).
The assistance included 2 units of complete cultivators, 1 unit of water pumps, 100 meters of hose and 1 unit of water reservoirs, handed over by the Head of Food Crops and Horticulture Department and the Head of Papua Forestry and Environment.
"The handover of this aid is directly from the Acting Governor of Papua. It was a follow-up when the Acting Governor harvested chili some time ago."
"Of course, this support is also to maintain the availability of chili supply to control inflation," explained the Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Service, Jeri A. Yudianto, via WhatsApp to the editor.
Jeri added that the assistance provided was the Governor's concern for local farmers. Moreover, the chili is planted on residents' land owned by residents and managed independently by five farmer groups in a self-managed manner.
"This is a form of attention and indeed Acting Governor Rumasukun on that occasion also greatly appreciated the landowners who had encouraged residents to plant chili."
"So that assistance is a form of support to farmers," he said. ***
