JAYAPURA - The Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Derek Hegemur instructed the newly appointed Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations to immediately work to help regional heads carry out development and community services under their main duties and functions.
This affirmation was conveyed by Secretary Derek, while attending the handover of positions for Head of the Regional Revenue Agency, Head of the Apparatus Resource Development Agency, and Secretary of the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) Papua, in Jayapura City, Friday (31/5/2024).
"The newly appointed Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations must immediately adjust what should be done, build a stronger and more effective organizational consolidation and start working," said Derek.
According to the Secretary, Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations have quite a lot of homework this year, in addition to changing the number of agencies from 35 to 40, some regional regulations must be encouraged for ratification.
Not only that, he continued, currently the Papua Provincial Government is faced with enormous fiscal pressure along the government transition. The Papua Provincial Government used to manage a regional budget of almost IDR 15 trillion, now it is only Rp3 trillion.
"But this should not be taken as a problem, let's make this a challenge to pass. Work as soon as possible, don't murmur much, then help the governor for us to pass this challenge," invited the Secretary.
While questioning the filling and mutation of positions, the Secretary added that it is a normal thing to be done to fill vacant positions and positions.
"The point is only one, we want this big house (government) to be carried out well, but there are adjustments to various things. These 40 Regional Apparatus Organizations must be filled with the heads of households, so we carried out transfers and mutations. This is common in government organizations," he said. ***
