JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun hopes that the implementation of the 30th Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) in Mimika Regency, Central Papua, will be an agenda for all provinces in the land of Papua.
That way, togetherness and friendship will be maintained even though a government has been formed in their respective provinces.
"The point is that the implementation of MTQ this time must be a momentum and a means to strengthen unity for the six provinces throughout Papua."
"One of the development programs in the field of religion is to increase understanding and develop religious values in the community through the implementation of MTQ," explained Ridwan in a press release in Jayapura, Monday (24/6/2024).
The MTQ was held by the Tilawatil Quran Development Institute (LPTQ), followed by six provinces throughout Papua.
The six provinces are Papua, West Papua, Southwest Papua, Mountainous Papua, Central Papua and South Papua.
The implementation of MTQ is like the agenda of the Ecclesiastical Choir Party (Pesparawis) held by Christian institutions in Papua and even nationally to unite the entire land of Papua through religion.
"This means we should not walk alone because the echo is very small. However, if it is done together like this, the impact received can be more obvious."
"Like some time ago, South Papua held MTQ and it was only attended by four districts, the impact is small, but if it is carried out for the whole of Papua, it will be extraordinary," said Ridwan. ***
