JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government is currently intensively growing the economy in its region. One of the main focuses is to improve regional infrastructure.
Acting Regional Secretary of Papua Derek Hegemur believes that to support sustainable economic growth, the main capital that needs to be done is to improve regional infrastructure on all lines
Because with adequate infrastructure, the inflation rate can remain well controlled.
"Papua's year-on-year economic growth will continue to improve thanks to the cooperation of all parties," he said in Jayapura City, Thursday.
The Regional Secretary continued, that collaboration between various parties is also the key to maintaining the positive trend of Papua's economic growth in the future. Through solid cooperation, it is hoped that Papua can continue to develop in a positive direction for the welfare of the community.
"The government cannot work alone, it needs support from all parties. Including support from the community so that the Papuan economy continues to grow positively," said the Regional Secretary.
The Regional Secretary of Derek also claimed that economic growth in his region is currently in good condition and quite competitive.
This is marked by the achievement of a well-maintained inflation rate until mid-2024.
Data from the Papua Central Statistics Agency noted that Papua experienced year-on-year inflation of 1.47 percent in June 2024. The Ministry of Home Affairs also appreciated Papua as one of the regions that has succeeded in controlling inflation.
He added that this good growth is supported by the right workforce and policies.
