JAYAPURA - The Mamberamo Raya Regency Government has been asked to resolve shortcomings in some of the national strategic programs that are still considered not optimal.

Among them is the coverage of the implementation of the National Polio Immunization Week (PIN) which in the administration of the first and second doses, is still below 50 percent of the target of 7,654 children.

Meanwhile, stunting cases in June 2024 are still quite high with 74 cases in 12 health centres.

"But from the explanation of the Deputy Regent of Mamberamo Raya, we appreciate the work done by all components to support the national strategic program. This includes controlling inflation, reducing extreme poverty and exacerbating the Polio Immunization in Mambermo Raya Regency."

"There are several things that are lacking, yes, of course, they need to be improved immediately," said Ridwan when chairing a meeting on coaching and supervising the implementation of government administration, preparations for the 2024 Regional Election and monitoring the implementation of national strategic programs in Mamberamo Raya Regency, Friday (12/7/2024).

The Governor said, during his visit, he brought the full strength of the Regional Unit Work in Papua Province. They will see the things needed to be synergized together in supporting the implementation of development in Mamberamo Raya.

"That way, it is hoped that there will be good cooperation to jointly succeed in the implementation of the national strategic program, to realize the golden generation in 2045," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Papua during his visit to Mamberamo Raya was accompanied by the Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Acting Chairman of the Papua PKK along with Assistants and Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations within Papua Province.

The Governor and his entourage also handed over assistance to support the implementation of the government, especially inflation control, stunting prevention, reducing extreme poverty rates and accelerating polio immunization coverage as well as preparations for the 2024 Regional Head Election. ***
