JAYAPURA - Acting Regent Sarmi Iman Djuniawal and Acting Regent of Jayapura Semuel Siriwa were officially inaugurated at the local Governor's Office Hall, Soa Siu Street, Dok II, Jayapura City, Thursday (15/8/2024) afternoon.
The Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders and the Head of the Regional Apparatus Organizations witnessed the inauguration by the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong.
The new Acting Regent of Sarmi, Iman Djuniawal, replaced the old official Markus Oktavianus Manshembra who resigned for the Regional Elections while Semuel Siriwa replaced Triwarno Purnomo who previously served as the Acting Regent of Jayapura for a year and eight months.
"I hereby inaugurate and take the oath of office for Iman Djuniawal as Acting Regent of Sarmi and Semuel Siriwa as Acting Regent of Jayapura with a maximum term of office of one year from the date of inauguration," explained the Acting Governor Limbong.
Furthermore, the two acting regents were given the main task of leading the implementation of government agencies that are under the authority of the region based on the provisions of laws and regulations and policies set together with the DPRD.
Then maintain peace and order in the community and keep the situation safe and conducive in collaboration with the Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders.
"Then the important thing is also to prepare for the Regional Elections in their regions, maintain the neutrality of civil servants, but also succeed in the national and regional strategic programs. Among others, handling stunting, inflation control, food security, reducing the unemployment rate and overcoming extreme poverty," he said.
Acting Regent Sarmi Iman Djuniawal stated that he was ready to carry out the instructions of the leadership. More specifically preparing for the implementation of the Regional Elections in their regions. "We are ready to carry out instructions to make the Regional Elections a success as well as national and regional strategic programs," he said. ***
