JAYAPURA – Acting Head of the Regional Development, Research, and Innovation Planning Agency (Bapperida) of Papua Province, Jimmy Alberto Thesia, announced that the first term of Special Autonomy funds has been disbursed.
However, Jimmy clarified that only the Special Autonomy Infrastructure Allocation (DTI) portion has been released so far, while other components are still pending.
“Only the DTI funds have been disbursed,” Jimmy stated.
He explained that the Special Autonomy funds, equivalent to 2.25 percent sourced from the national General Allocation Fund (DAU), consist of 1 percent from general revenue, 1.25 percent from special revenue, and 1 percent DTI. These funds are allocated to support public services, empower Indigenous Papuans, and achieve other regional priorities.
“In terms of planning from Bapperida, everything has been completed. We’re just waiting for validation from the Ministry of Finance to proceed,” he said.
Jimmy added that after the disbursement of the first term, they are now awaiting the second term disbursement.
“Hopefully, the second term disbursement will be completed soon,” he expressed.
He also called for strong cooperation from all regional apparatus organizations within the Papua Provincial Government. ***
