JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Chairperson and Members of the Executive Committee for the Acceleration of Papua’s Special Autonomy Development at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The inauguration marks a strategic initiative by the government to accelerate fair, equitable, and sustainable development in the Land of Papua.

The inauguration was carried out based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 110/P of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Executive Committee for the Acceleration of Papua’s special autonomy development. The officials appointed under this decree are as follows:

1. Velix Vernando Wanggai – Chairperson
2. John Wempi Wetipo – Member
3. Ignatius Yogo Triyono – Member
4. Paulus Waterpauw – Member
5. Ribka Haluk – Member
6. Ali Hamdan Bogra – Member
7. Gracia Josaphat Jobel Mambrasar – Member
8. Yanni – Member
9. John Gluba Gebze – Member
10. Juharson Estrella Sihasale – Member

Following the reading of the Presidential Decree, the Head of State administered the oath of office to the newly appointed officials.

“I swear that I will remain faithful to and uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of 1945, and that I will carry out all laws and regulations as truthfully as possible, for the sake of my service to the nation and the state,” recited the President, dictating the oath of office.

The ceremony proceeded with the signing of the minutes of the inauguration by a representative of the newly appointed officials. The event concluded with congratulatory greetings led by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, followed by other guests.

Also in attendance were leaders of state institutions, ministers of the Red and White Cabinet (Kabinet Merah Putih), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and Indonesian National Police (Polri) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. ***
