JAYAPURA – The Governor of Papua, Mathius D. Fakhiri, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening synergy between the provincial government and regency/municipal administrations across Papua. This initiative marks one of the first agendas of his leadership, aimed at aligning the vision and direction of regional development for the next five years.

Governor Fakhiri conveyed this plan after inspecting the Governor’s Office and the State Building in Jayapura on Thursday (October 16, 2025). He stated that a meeting with all regents and mayors would soon be held to synchronize development steps and priorities across various sectors.

“This meeting is important to build interregional cooperation so that all regional leaders understand the vision and mission we are pursuing,” said Fakhiri.

Although he has just begun his term near the end of the fiscal year, Governor Fakhiri emphasized that the spirit of work must not wane. He assured that the provincial government would continue to operate optimally in serving the public and preparing strategic programs for the coming year.

“I know the budget has already been allocated to each agency, but that’s no excuse. We still have to perform well,” he asserted.

According to him, the last three months of 2025 are a crucial period to build internal consolidation and strengthen coordination with all regional apparatuses. He also urged all staff at the Governor’s Office to give their best in supporting the government’s priority agendas.

“I will invite all newly inaugurated regional heads to collaborate. We must use the time we have to strengthen the foundation of government work going forward,” he explained.

In addition, Governor Fakhiri called on the Papua Regional Legislative Council and political parties to jointly support the government’s strategic initiatives. He expressed hope that interinstitutional synergy would accelerate development progress and improve public welfare.

“I’m not talking about a 100-day program because we’re already at the end of the fiscal year. But we must stay focused and work hard for a brighter future for Papua,” he concluded. ***
