CdM Meeting III PON XX Kemungkinan Digelar Virtual

Panitia pelaksana setempat mempertimbangkan gelaran Chef de Mission (CdM) Meeting III PON XX Papua, dilakukan secara virtual.

Hal demikian karena masih tingginya kasus penularan COVID-19 serta adanya pemberlakuan PPKM level 4 di seluruh klaster (tempat) penyelenggaraan event empat tahunan itu.

“Kita ada dua pola, pertama itu dilakukan secara pertemuan fisik seperti halnya CdM Meeting I dan II”.

“Pola kedua, dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi pandemi COVID-19 (yang tinggi) saat ini, maka muncul opsi digelar secara virtual,” bilang Ketua Harian PB PON XX Papua, Yunus Wonda di Jayapura, Senin (9/8/2021).

Menurut Yunus, opsi menggelar CdM Meeting III PON secara virtual, sebenarnya merupakan langkah paling ideal untuk dilakukan pada situasi saat ini.

Sebab inti penyelenggaraannya adalah penyampaian progres atau kemajuan persiapan panitia setempat di seluruh venue. Disisi lain, mengetahui kesiapan seluruh bidang di kepanitiaan PON, khususnya dalam menyediakan fasilitas bagi atlet maupun ofisial.

“CdM Meeting III PON Papua ini lebih kepada pengecekkan terakhir untuk kesiapan di seluruh venue kemudian di seluruh bidang PB PON Papua”.

“Kan mereka hanya butuh laporan progres kesiapan PON Papua terakhit itu seperti apa. Pastinya KONI se-Indonesia hanya ingin tahu itu, sehingga atlet mereka kan tidak ragu lagi datang ke Papua. Jadi, saya pikir tidak harus kita secara fisik dengan kondisi COVID tinggi begini,” terang dia.

Meski demikian, (keputusan) gelaran secara virtual menurut Yunus, masih harus dirapatkan bersama seluruh bidang dalam waktu satu hingga dua hari kedepan.

Setelah fix, masih akan dikomunikasikan dengan KONI Pusat, untuk selanjutnya menentukan apakah pelaksanaan CdM Meeting III digelar virtual atau pertemuan fisik di Papua.

"We have two patterns, the first is done physically as well as CdM Meeting I and II".

"The second pattern, taking into account the current (high) cases in the COVID-19 pandemic, appears virtually," said Daily Chairman of National Sports Week Committee, Yunus Wonda in Jayapura, Monday (08/09/2021).

According to Yunus, the option of holding a Virtual CdM Meeting III is actually the most ideal step to take in the current situation.

The core reason for the implementation is the delivery of progress or progress of local committee preparations throughout the venue. On the other hand, knowing the readiness of all fields in the National Sports Week committee, especially in providing facilities for athletes and officials.

"CdM Meeting III of PON Papua is more to the last check for readiness in all venues and  all areas of National Sports Week Committee Papua".

"They just need a progress report on the readiness of National Sports Week Papua. Surely KONI wants to know that, so that the athletes will not hesitate to come to Papua. So, I don't think we should be physically meeting in this condition," he explained.

However, the virtual (decision) according to Yunus, still has to be coordinated with the whole field within the next one to two days.

After that, it will still be communicated with Central KONI to further determine whether the implementation of CdM Meeting III is held virtually or physically in Papua.
