JAYAPURA – Pemerintah Provinsi Papua optimistis target Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) tahun 2026 dapat tercapai meskipun realisasi penerimaan hingga pertengahan tahun masih terus digenjot.
JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government remains optimistic that its 2026 Regional Original Revenue target will be achieved, despite ongoing efforts to further increase revenue collection during the second half of the year.
Head of the Papua Regional Revenue Agency, Subhan, stated that some measures are being implemented to strengthen regional revenue performance throughout the remainder of 2026.
"There is still sufficient time in the second semester to pursue and achieve the targets that have been established," he said in Jayapura.
According to Subhan, Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Ownership Transfer Fees continue to be the largest contributors to regional revenue.
He added that the vehicle tax incentive program introduced in April 2026 has begun to generate positive results for regional income.
Data from the Papua Regional Revenue Agency show that vehicle tax collections have increased since the implementation of the program, which includes the waiver of late-payment penalties and the provision of tax discounts for eligible taxpayers.
Subhan explained that the 2026 Regional Revenue target was formulated based on revenue trends that have shown steady growth over the past several years.
"We remain optimistic that this year's regional revenue target can be achieved through the various initiatives currently being implemented," he said.
The Papua Provincial Government hopes that increased taxpayer compliance, combined with the optimization of other regional revenue sources, will support the achievement of the province's 2026 Regional Revenue target and strengthen its fiscal capacity to finance public services and development programs. ***
