JAYAPURA - Mimika Regency which became one of the venues for the National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua, did not escape the monitoring of Governor Lukas Enembe.

Although still struggling with the disease he suffered, Governor Lukas Enembe on Monday (09/20/2021), visited Mimika Regency checked the readiness of the implementation of the competition in a number of arenas or venues.

The Governor under review was accompanied by the Chairman of National Sports Week Committee of Papua, Yunus Wonda by Yajasi flight.

"Governor Lukas Enembe accompanied by the Chairman of National Sports Week Committee Papua, Yunus Wonda, used the Yajasi flight. He checked the readiness of National Sports Week in Mimika," The spokesman of Papua Governor, Muhammad Rifai Darus said in a telephone call on Monday, after accompanying and releasing Governor Lukas Enembe from Sentani Airport to Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport.

Rifai Darus said, in addition to reviewing several arenas in Mimika Regency, Lukas wanted to make sure that all venues were ready to compete in existing sports.

"Because after the visit, Governor Lukas Enembe will carry out internal activities with Sub-Committee of National Sports Week in Timika"

"Then then Governor Lukas Enembe will return to Jayapura on Wednesday (22/9) in the routine of preparation for the implementation of National Sports Week  only counts the days," he said.

It is known, upon his return to Jayapura, Governor Lukas Enembe will carry out arena handover activities from the government to the National Sports Week Committee of Papua.

The Governor is also certain to participate in overseeing the implementation of the National Sports Week which is scheduled to arrive in Jayapura Regency on October 1, 2021. ***
