JAYAPURA | A total of 22 pilots and flight instructors graduated from Nusa Flight Institute, Thursday morning (18/11/2021) following the graduation in the office hall of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of Papua Province.

The graduation procession takes place with strict health protocols.

Of the 22 pilots and flight instructors who graduated for the first time, 15 of them were Indigenous Papuan students (OAP) participants in the Papua Provincial Government's Superior Scholarship Program financed from the Special Autonomy fund (Otsus).

Among others Prengki Wakerkwa, Reven Wenda, Pither Tisony Keiya, Misael Molama, Easterlis, Oromi Gwijangge, Awila H.M.T Kogoya, Naftali Wigidipa, Yonathan Alex, Ray Marcelino, Charlewis Oriway Ansek, Alpons Keiya, Christian AP Baibaba, Harol Kristian Doko Kayame, Michael Apollos.

The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH said the graduation of Papuan students as a form of achieving the strategic objectives of the special autonomy policy, in preparing adequate Human Resources (SMD) both quality and quantity.

The availability of quality Papuan human resources is a major demand in the current era, as a consequence of the increasing advancement of science and technology as well as communication in the era of globalization.

"The era of the development of science, technology and information demands the formation of superior human quality readiness, with characteristics: intelligent, professional, skilled, reliable, independent, creative, productive and full of innovation and has a high appreciation for every change. Without superior quality of human resources, indigenous Papuans will be a burden of development even spectators alone, without giving valuable meaning in the era of special autonomy of Papua Province," said the Governor in his speech read by Acting Assistant III for General affairs and People's Welfare (Kesra) Derek Hegemur, SH, MH.

The Governor said, related to that, with the Papua Superior Student Scholarship Program, it is expected to produce quality Indigenous Papuan students human resources, with high competitiveness so as to contribute to the acceleration of welfare development in Papua Province.

Enembe explained that the policy of affirming the awarding of scholarships to Indigenous Papuan students with the aim of improving access to quality and quality education for quality improvement and competitiveness. As well as preparing graduates who can work independently in the business world, the industrial world and government, to accelerate the development of welfare and progress in Papua province.

Air transportation is the backbone of development in Papua in terms of the mobilization of goods and people. Papua's geographical conditions are quite difficult to reach, especially in mountainous areas, making air transportation the only option for the government and the community.

"Air transportation is the main support for development in Papua, which is almost 80% of the geographical area of mountains with an average height of 500 to more than 5,000 meters above sea level," he explained.

With this success, said the Governor, Indigenous Papuan students must carry out a revolution in the mindset and value of people's lives within the framework of the world market, in order to be in line with strengthening government bureaucracy, implementing development and public services, and still maintaining the integrity of the nation and state in the land of Papua.

Meanwhile, Head of Human Resources Development Agency of Papua, Aryoko A. F. Rumaropen, SP, M.Eng said the students who graduated today is evidence of the success of the Papua Governor's program in the development of indigenous Papuan students human resources.

Explained from the 15 students who graduated, each of the 4 people PPL Program (Private Pilot License), 2 People CPL-IR (Commercial Pilot License - Instrument Rating), and 9 People FIC (Flight Instructor Course), ME (Multi Engine) & Caravan.

"15 indigenous Papuan students are very proud, because 4 of them graduated in the PPL (Private Pilot License) Program, 2 CPL-IR (Commercial Pilot License - Instrument Rating), and 9 People FIC (Flight Instructor Course), ME (Multi Engine) & Caravan," explained Aryoko.
