JAYAPURA - Chairman of the Christmas Committee and Gratitude National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XIV of Papua Doren Wakerkwa in Jayapura, Wednesday, said community representatives from 29 districts and cities, participated in enlivening the Christmas celebration and Thanksgiving of National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XIV held in Papua Bangkit Stadium, this afternoon.
"Community representatives in Sarmi, Keerom, Jayapura City and Regency will come to this event. But of course all the representative elements from all districts and cities in Papua will be present," he said.
Doren ensured the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe planned to attend the Christmas and Thanksgiving event.
Because in addition to gratitude and the submission of rewards of National Paralympic Week XVI athletes, there will also be award submissions to the committee of National Sports Week and National Paralympic Week as well as provincial government officials who provide ideas, input before National Sports Week or people who have ideas and contribute to the implementation of the national sports event.
"Of course we will also participate in providing award charters for four regional heads in four organizing clusters of National Sports Week XX, namely the Mayor and Regent of Jayapura, Mimika and Merauke," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Papua Communication and Informatics Office, Jeri A. Yudianto said the Christmas event and thanksgiving is a form of gratitude for the successful implementation of national sports events in Papua.
In this event, he continued, the Papua Provincial Government will also give an award for the Chairman of the National Sports Week XX Contingent, namely the Papua Police Chief and the Chairman of the National Paralympic Week XVI Contingent, namely Head of Chief Prosecutor of Papua, who is considered successful in bringing their respective contingents, achieving the best results in the two national events.
"This thanksgiving event is also marked as the dissolution of the National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XIV committee," he said. ***
