JAYAPURA - Papua's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released data on Papua tourism development in December 2021, calculated from the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels, reached 50.86 percent or decreased by 6.07 points compared to the previous month of 56.93 percent.
According to the Head of the Central Statistics Agency of Papua Province Adriana Helena Carolina, the decline occurred in three classes, namely one-star down 20.69 points, three-star down 3.69 points, and four-star hotels down 11.02 points.
"While two-star hotels increased by 17.64 points," explained Adriana in Jayapura, Wednesday (2/2/2022).
Meanwhile, she continued, when compared to the same month of the previous year, the Room Occupancy Rate of star-hotels in December 2021 rose 14.61 points.
The increase in the Room Occupancy Rate occurred in three classes, while one class decreased. "One-star is down 3.49 points, two-star are up 34.43 points, three-star are up 14.11 points and four-star are up 14.57 points," she said.
While questioning the average length of stay in star hotels during December 2021, she said, reached 2.02 days or down 0.46 points compared to November 2021.
"But the number in December 2021 is up 0.04 points compared to the same month in 2020," she said. ***
