JAYAPURA – Task Force (Task Force) of COVID-19 in Papua Province encourages the re-enactment of restrictions on community activities, to minimize the surge in cases of coronavirus transmission.
According to the Daily Chairman of the Papua COVID-19 Task Force, Welliam Manderi, the number of corona cases recorded until February 10, 2022, has penetrated the number of 518 cases.
"I think this spike in cases should be our record. Moreover, until February 10, 2022, the total number of patients treated has reached 1,998 or there is a 44% increase," Manderi said in Jayapura, Monday (2/14/2022).
Therefore, he continued, the surge in cases should not be underestimated by all parties, not least the public.
Thus, the public must carry out health protocols in a disciplined manner, keep wearing masks when traveling, and then avoid crowds.
"Especially in two areas, namely Jayapura City and Mimika Regency which until now have had quite high spikes. That's why we from the Papua COVID Task Force in the near future will distribute masks to the community as well as socialization," he said.
Manderi said, in the near future it will encourage further meetings with authorities in provinces and districts / cities. Through the meeting, it is expected to produce a joint decision to reduce the rate of spike in cases of COVID transmission in Papua. ***
