JAYAPURA - The construction of the Papuan People's Assembly Building (MRP) was officially proclaimed on Wednesday 23/02/2022) at the former Papua Provincial Transportation Department.
The construction of the building has now been approved and recognized by the indigenous people of Chaay Saiba Kampung Kayo Pulo by being marked by a customary procession.
Chief of The Chaay Saiba Kampung Kayo Pulo Ir. Marthen Chaay in a release received by the editor said, the building will become the one of the tallest buildings in Papua and West Papua Provinces.
"We are proud and grateful that this building can be built on the land of our ulayat rights"
"We hope that this institution has a cultural right for us Papuans and can produce proud things for the community and maintain customs that respect the community not only in Papua but in West Papua," he said.
He added, indigenous people are ready to support the construction of the building because it is a program of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.
"We will not hinder the construction of this MRP building and we will finish it honorably," he said.
Nurgianto Trisakti as Construction Implementation Manager of PP Company is ready to appreciate the support of indigenous peoples related to the construction of the MRP building.
It said it was ready to complete the process which in the contract was given a working time of 400 days according to the calendar.
"This contract has been signed since November 19, 2021, the target is completed on December 23, 2022"
"We are still trying to complete the construction of this building in time. The goal is to get this job done early and on time. Or one month before the contract expires we hope it will be finished and has been handed over the building." ***
