JAYAPURA - The Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) of Papua Province is strongly encouraged to encourage blood donation services in the community, to overcome the availability of stock which is currently still very lacking.
This was conveyed by Assistant for The Papua Provincial Government Doren Wakerkwa, at the Working and Deliberation of PMI Papua Province at one of the star hotels in Jayapura, Tuesday (03/08/2022).
"The availability of blood is needed, especially certain blood types are still very lacking in Papua, so in the future PMI is asked to encourage blood donation services," said Doren.
Nevertheless, Doren believes the current performance of PMI Papua has been very high, very actively helping in other social areas of society during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It's just that, Doren hopes there is active socialization that also bridges the community to be able to donate blood.
"Moreover, today PMI Papua held a regional working meeting as well as regional deliberations of the leader's election for the next 5 years. We hope PMI Papua will be better in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, The Head of Central PMI Organization, HM Muas hopes that through the work deliberations of PMI Papua Province, it will produce a better work program in the future, more specifically towards humanitarian strategic programs.
"If I think the work program should be changed, to strengthen the strategic human capability in each city district. So that in the future it can be controlled and provide understanding, because PMI internationally wants that this institution becomes a controller in the community, "he hoped. ***
