JAYAPURA - Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department Jeri Agus was awarded by the local Regional Broadcasting Commission (KPID) on Friday (1/4/2022), in Jayapura.
Jeri Yudianto was awarded as the Head of Department for his existence of controlling the truth of information amid the rise of hoax news.
After the handover, Jeri appreciated the KPID institution that periodically monitored the performance of its agencies.
He promises to continue to maintain the correct provision of information to the public.
"We will continue to improve and provide literacy in the form of education, both on social media and others to the community, so that they can use social media well and away from hoaxes," explained Jeri.
He admitted, until now there is still a high inequality of information on social media. Even though the dissemination of information is everyone's right, there are still many potential hoaxes found.
Therefore, he is determined to educate through the official social media of the Communication and Informatics Department both on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and the official website of the Papua Provincial Government, to then be used as literacy in dealing with hoaxes.
"We will also cooperate with the influencer community in Papua who have become our partners, together with the Communication and Informatics Department of Papua to convey the right information," he concluded.
While at the grand event of Commemorating the 89th National Broadcasting 2022, Friday (1/4/2022) morning, at Swissbel Hotel Jayapura, KPID Papua also bestowed other awards to public institutions in Papua.
Among them, RRI Jayapura which was named as the Public Radio for the Papua Development Broadcast.
Then TVRI Papua as a Public Television Responsive to Digitalization of Broadcasting.
Furthermore, Governor Lukas Enembe who was named as "The Father of Healthy, Balanced and Educative Broadcasting Care. ***
