JAYAPURA - Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 2022 holiday, the National Amil Zakat Agency of Papua Province provided 1,555 compensation for the dhuafa (poor people) in the ‘Cenderawasih Earth’ region.

The Regional Secretary of Papua Provincial, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun in Jayapura on Monday, appreciated it because it helped ease the burden on people who wanted to enter the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

"Moreover, National Amil Zakat Agency as an official non-structural government institution does serve to manage zakat, infaq and alms"

"And of course the goal is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of zakat management in increasing welfare in the framework of poverty alleviation. So we really appreciate it," Ridwan said.

Still, according to Ridwan, the Papua Provincial Government hopes that through sharing a real contribution program, Baznas Papua will continue to help local governments to build Papua by main duties and functions.

The provincial government is very supportive of the compensation program, which has recently continued to carry out various efforts and joint efforts of all development actors.
