JAYAPURA - Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian awarded the Papua Provincial Government as one of the regions with the highest Regional Original Income (PAD) for the 2021 fiscal year.
Although not alone in receiving awards, the success of the Papua Provincial Government in winning the award is believed to encourage the improvement of PAD 2022.
"The Papua Provincial Government received the highest PAD realization award for 2021. With this award, it will certainly be an encouragement for us in Papua to continue to strive to improve Papua's PAD this year," said the Head of the Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda) of Papua Province, Setiyo Wahyudi, to reporters in Jayapura, Wednesday (8/6/2022).
He said that the biggest contribution to the increase in Papua's PAD in the 2021 fiscal year came from PT. Freeport Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the realization of Papua's PAD in the 2022 fiscal year has the potential to exceed the target charged, which is worth IDR 1.312 trillion.
"In the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Papuan economy is starting to improve to the point of impacting the indigenous income of the regions in Papua which is also improving. So it is expected that there will be additional value this year," he said.
It is known that the realization of Papua's PAD in the 2021 fiscal year reached IDR 2.139 trillion from the target of IDR 1.977 trillion.
Compared to the realization of PAD 2020, there is a considerable increase of around 70 percent. ***
