JAYAPURA - Assistant for Government Affairs of Papua, Regional Secretary Doren Wakerkwa stated that corrupt behavior has become a scourge that greatly endangers the development process in Papua.
This form of criminal act has an impact on decreasing the level of happiness of the people in a country.
"Even if we can call it an act of corruption, it is very detrimental to the country which can impact economic growth."
"But no less important can lead to a decrease in investment and an increase in poverty and income inequality," Doren said in Jayapura on Thursday.
Therefore, his party on several occasions, including while attending the training of candidates for anti-corruption counseling of Papua Province, reminded all parties to avoid a culture of corruption.
Because the impact of corruption endangers the stability of a country, it is necessary to prevent it from various sectors, both in the government, the private sector, and even the general public.
"Because of this framework, the KPK continues to organize anti-corruption education programs in every educational network and conducts various socialization programs and anti-corruption campaigns to various groups."
"In efforts to prevent and eradicate corruption, the KPK cannot work alone. The KPK encourages efforts to eradicate and prevent corruption by involving all elements of the nation in accordance with their respective positions and capacities," he said.
Doren hopes that with the efforts to eradicate and prevent anti-corruption in all regions of Papua, it can support the realization of the vision and mission of the Governor of Papua which encourages the realization of strengthening the quality of competitiveness of Human Resources.
"This includes strengthening the sense of security, peace as well as democratic life in strengthening the Republic of Indonesia".
"So as to create a strengthening of governance, strengthening and accelerating the regional economy and developing cultural-based areas, as well as accelerating the development of underdeveloped, backward and foremost areas which are our shared responsibility," he said. ***
