JAYAPURA - After taking a flight for approximately 5 hours from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta, President Joko Widodo and Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo arrived at Sentani International Airport, Jayapura Regency on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 19.00 Eastern Indonesia Time (WIT).

As reported by the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. TNI Teguh Muji Angkasa, Papua Police Chief Irjen Pol Mathius D. Fakhiri, Regional Secretary of Papua Province Ridwan Rumasukun, and Danlanud Silas Papare Jayapura Colonel Pnb. M. Dadan Gunawan welcomed the arrival of the Head of State.

At 7:20 p.m. The President and Mrs. Iriana and their entourage arrived at the hotel where they spent the night while in Jayapura.

Previously, through his Instagram account @jokowi, Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2022, President Jokowi said that he would visit Jayapura and Timika, during his visit to Papua this time.

"At noon today, I, together with Mrs. Iriana, will leave for Jayapura and Timika," said the President on his way from the Bogor Presidential Palace to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta.

Also accompanying the President and Mrs. Iriana on a working visit to Papua Province were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, and Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, Bahlil Lahadalia. ***
