JAYAPURA - President Jokowi officially handed over the business identification number (NIB) to MSME owners at the Toware Sports Building (HMS), Jayapura Regency, Wednesday (31/8/2022).
The President said that of the 64 million MSMEs in Indonesia, only 1.8 million MSMEs already have NIB. Therefore, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Papua need support, because they contribute to the gross domestic product.
In addition, according to the President, MSMEs also make a major contribution in the employment sector. "The Minister of Investment said that those who have NIB, which has been encouraged by the Ministry of Investment, are only 1.8 million. That is, others have not had NIB yet. Therefore, you are lucky to have NIB," said the President.
He said, with the NIB, MSME owner have become formal entrepreneurs and have access to capital in banks, such as taking people's business loans (KUR) with 3 percent interest. The interest, said the President, is a subsidy from the government so that MSMEs in the country are able to develop quickly.
Furthermore, the President reminded entrepreneurs to do a detailed calculation before taking a loan at the bank. In addition, the Head of State also requested that they must be wise in using bank loans that have been given.
"Be wise, you don't use the loan to buy things of enjoyment, luxury like that," he said. ***
