SENTANI - The Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI) of Papua Province held a fun walk and gymnastics event with all main sports Saturday (3/9/2022), at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Sentani, Jayapura Regency.
The fun walk released by the Regional Secretary of Papua M. Ridwan Rumasukun as the Chairman of the local KORMI, was also in order to welcome the 39th National Sports Day (Haornas) in 2022.
The Chairman of KORMI, Ridwan Rumasukun also distributed awards to participants who won medals at the VI National Recreational Sports Festival (Fornas) in Palembang, South Sumatra, last July 2022.
"National Sports Day, September 9, 2022 is a historic moment for the Indonesian sports world".
"This event is also a very appropriate momentum to always remind us all of the importance of building awareness of healthy living in the community, as the main foundation for forming a healthy and fit Papuan society," Ridwan explained on the sidelines of the sports event.
Ridwan realized, to achieve an achievement, of course, cannot be obtained instantly. On the contrary, we still have to go through a continuous process, starting from ourselves, our families to the large community of people.
Moreover, in the current situation of the Covid-19 Pandemic, it places the importance of living a healthy life by exercising, eating nutritious foods and getting enough rest.
"For this reason, on this occasion, I invite the entire community to promote 'Ayo Olahraga' (let’s do exercise) to the smallest environment to achieve a healthy and productive society," he explained.
Meanwhile, through the National Sports Day in 2022, Ridwan Rumasukun hopes that all stakeholders can make this sports day a milestone in development through sports. At the same time cultivate sports and improve sports achievements.
"Because, with sports as a necessity and lifestyle, potential seeds of sports that excel will be formed to be further fostered and developed," he said.
Meanwhile, related to providing rewards for community sports participants who excel at FORNAS Palembang, Ridwan hopes to maintain and improve in Fornas West Java, 2023.
"Hopefully this Reward will provide enthusiasm to activists, so that they will be even more diligent in building awareness of doing exercise in the community," he said. ***
