JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government will soon hold a meeting with relevant stakeholders to prepare an action plan to control inflation in the regions.
The plan, as a follow-up to the direction of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartato at the Coordination Meeting between the Central and Regional Governments in Surabaya, which encouraged the provincial government to in Indonesia, prepared a number of strategic steps to anticipate the impact of the global crisis.
"The Papua Provincial Government is likely to immediately make a meeting with Bank Indonesia, especially to prepare what steps must be taken," explained the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri Yudianto, in Jayapura, Monday.
According to Jeri, the direction of Minister Airlangga is very mandatory for all governments in Papua to follow up, because through cooperation with related parties, the inflation rate can be suppressed.
There are several initial policies that can be carried out to suppress inflation, including local governments, encouraging market operations to be carried out by involving all stakeholders.
"Then to take advantage of digital platforms to market local products. Currently, digital growth is still the best means to expand the product distribution network," he said.
