JAYAPURA - The Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda) of Papua said that as many as seven State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in Cenderawasih Earth were in arrears of Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB).
The Head of the Papua Regional Revenue Management Agency, Setyo Wahyudi, revealed that one of the state-owned tax delinquents, namely PT. PLN in Papua Region. The amount of arrears is estimated to reach more than IDR 200 million.
"Operational vehicles owned by PT. PLN is in arrears with PKB for 1 year to 3 years"
"Based on the traffic rules, the vehicle should not be allowed to operate because the tax has not been paid yet," he said.
Setyo said that the local Bappenda Papua through Samsat had sent a notification letter to PLN management regarding the arrears.
But until now there has been no response or even repayment.
"It seems that this is unfair because when we are late to pay the electricity, it is immediately terminated, but when we don't pay PKB, it will be left alone," he complained.
Setyo hopes that companies that have the ability to pay their vehicle taxes on time so as to set a good example to the public or taxpayers.
"Because this state-owned company should be an example first, especially since we have been enforcing discounts and even retaliating against PKB fines," he said. ***
