JAYAPURA - Acting Assistant Secretary of Papua for Economic Affairs and People Welfare, Suzana Wanggai ensures that she will immediately follow up on reports on the payment of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri Religious Holiday Allowance (THR) for workers, which are not following laws and regulations.
Therefore, she asked workers who feel aggrieved to immediately report to the relevant agency (manpower office), if they get THR payments that are not under the rules of the Law.
"For workers who feel they have not been paid, then get a deduction, for example, immediately report to the Manpower Office both in the city and provincial districts so it can be followed up immediately," explained Suzana in Jayapura, Tuesday.
She also requested that THR for workers, not be paid in the form of parcels or goods, but must be in the form of cash.
In addition, she reminded that THR payments should not be paid in installments.
"This means that everything must be under existing provisions, namely payment must be in cash," she explained.
Suzana added that the payment of THR must be given seven days before religious holidays, which is following the direction of the Minister of Manpower.
"We ask that companies pay attention to this to encourage workers to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families, of course, happily."
"Because the provision of THR refers to Government regulation number 36 of 2021 concerning wages and Permenaker number 6 of 2016 concerning the payment of religious THR to workers or laborers," she said. ***
