JAYAPURA - The Daily Executive of the Governor of Papua, Muhammad Ridwan Rumasukun invites the residents of Papua to jointly succeed in the implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census.
The census by the local Central Statistics Agency (BPS) will be held simultaneously on June 1-31, 2023.
"Let's together succeed the 2023 Agricultural Census, recording Indonesian agriculture for food sovereignty and farmers' welfare," said Governor Rumasukun, Thursday (4/5/2023) in Jayapura.
As for the Papua region, the local BPS is confirmed to conduct a census throughout June 2023, to obtain useful data in supporting the planning and development of the agricultural sector.
This data is also useful to help the welfare of agricultural business actors, both individuals and companies.
"So that, as the Acting Governor of Papua, I invite the public to provide real data to census officers in the field so the community has helped the successful implementation of the 2023 Agricultural Census," he appealed.
The Head of the Papua Communication and Informatics Department, Jeri A. Yudianto said that currently, the government is also implementing a social protection program reform policy through activities carried out by the Papua Provincial BPS in the form of initial socio-economic registration data collection (Regsosek).
Field data collection of activities was confirmed to have been completed in 2022, there are around 865 thousand families in Papua who have been censused. However, the level of family welfare of the data collection results should be accurate, data verification will be carried out through Public Consultation Forum (FKP) activities simultaneously on May 2 - 31, 2023.
"For this reason, as representative of the Papua Provincial Government through the guidance of the Acting Governor of Papua, I invite all communities to jointly succeed the FKP Regsosek, to realize data on social protection programs and community empowerment, for a more advanced Papua," he hoped. ***
