JAYAPURA - The Regional Education, Library and Archives Department (DPPAD) of Papua Province ensures that as many as 350 children of the Secondary Education Affirmation Program (ADEM), will immediately return to Papua in the near future.
Head of DPPAD Papua Province Christian Sohilait said that of the total number participating in the ADEM program, as many as 156 had arrived in Papua on Thursday (15/6/2023).
They have even returned to their respective areas of origin (districts or cities).
"These students were picked up at Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency and Kaisiepo Airport, Biak Numfor Regency," Sohilait said in Jayapura on Friday.
He added that his party was grateful because with the Adem and Adik programs, the government could provide better services in the midst of the transition period after the formation of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) in the land of Papua.
That way, he hopes that children who have completed this upper secondary education can immediately continue to the next level by registering for the Higher Education Affirmation program (ADIK).
"Those who return are graduates from high school can now directly have a test for the ADIK program. Just choose which area is the destination of study," he explained.
It is known that the students of the ADEM program who returned to Papua studied in several provinces in Indonesia such as East Java, Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, Yogyakarta, Bali and Sumatra.
The students of the ADEM Program are funded by the Ministry of Education. ***
