JAYAPURA - Director of the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Jayapura, drg. Aloysius Giyai, M.Kes stated that currently there are no reports of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases handled by medical personnel.
Although cases are increasing from mid-2022 to May 2023, in the middle of June this tends to decrease.
"But we still urge residents to be vigilant," explained Aloysius to the press in Jayapura, Tuesday (20/6/2023).
The Ministry of Health recently explained that the number of dengue cases in Indonesia continues to increase. In 2022, the incidence rate reached 143,184. The province with the highest incidence of dengue fever occurred in West Java, which was 36,500 cases.
As for Papua Province, according to the Head of the Papua Provincial Health Department, Robby Kayame, until now there has been no increase in dengue fever cases.
Nevertheless, he appealed to the public to be aware of dengue fever by maintaining the environment, draining puddles and participating in increasing vigilance.
"So far, districts and cities in Papua have not received reports yet from the local health officials about the increase in dengue cases."
"Indeed, the increase in dengue fever cases usually occurs in Asmat Regency and Jayapura City. But as time goes by, the case has not been found yet. If there are symptoms of fever, immediately go to the health service to check their health," said Robby. ***
